I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote something down:
"My integrity is a reflection of who I am; not who I expect you to be".
It seems that we often question how others will react to us. What will they think? How will I be seen by the outside world? We worry how our actions will reflect on us and this worry often leads us into spaces where we deny or fail to act on our own values.
I've found that I'm most congruent when I tune in to my own intuition, my own principles and my own morals and let go of any expectations I might have of others. I do right because I believe that's the best path; not because I expect others to do the same. These expectations can lead to disappointment when others fail to live up to them.
Staying centred in our truth is essential if we want to walk a path of integrity regardless of what the rest of the world is doing. How do you centre in your truth? How do you remain congruent with your values and maintain your integrity in the face of disappointment?
We can cultivate intuition and integrity as part of our daily practices. We can free ourselves from expectations and lead congruent and authentic lives. It's possible!
